Mike Miller Night of Hope Annual UFC Fighter Invasion happens every year around this time. The Miami Heat’s two time NBA Champion small forward doesn’t sit back and relax once the title has been won. The event is being planned and worked on throughout the season and as he barely kissed the trophy after the win, he was soon headed back to his home town of Sioux Falls, SD to continue his life’s work; raising money for the aptly named Mike Miller Foundation.
The Mike Miller Foundation’s mission is to provide aid to disabled or disadvantaged children. The Mike Miller Foundation has successfully donated well over 1.7 million in money and in kind donations to the charities: Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the Youth Athletic Foundation, St Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN and the Make-A-Wish Organizations, in both Tennessee and South Dakota.
Mike Miller has worked hand in hand with Martin Advisory Group and they manage some of the top fighters on the UFC roster such as Chris Weidman, the new UFC Middleweight Champion, Ryan Bader winner of The Ultimate Fighter, Former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold, Former Strikeforce Lightweight Champion Josh Thomson, CB Dollaway, Aaron Simpson, Gray Maynard, Gian Villante, and more!
Friday night’s event at the Grand Falls Casino had Luke Rockhold, Gray Maynard, Josh Thomson, Gian Villante, Aaron Simpson, Big Black, as well as Udonis Haslem on hand to play in the celebrity Blackjack tournament in an effort to exceed the goal of $200,000 that night. The night’s festivities included heart wrenching speeches from the families of two of the cancer stricken children who had benefited from the charity. The night was hosted by emcee, Heather Debeaux of the Speed Channel.
